Green Smoothies seem to be the “latest craze” in the raw food community… many have started to crave and enjoy eating more greens after a couple of weeks of drinking green smoothies.
With Victoria 's permission, we are excited to share a small sample of her Green Smoothie recipe collection from her latest book “Green for Life” (which is now available from Avena Originals!). Here's her favorite recipe: 4 ripe pears, 1 bunch parsley, and 1 big cup of water—well blended. While it looks very green, it tastes like fruit!
Equipment Required: Blender
Ingredients
4 apples
1/2 lemon, juiced
4-5 leaves of kale
water
Simply throw all ingredients into a blender, blend well and serve! Ratio is 60% ripe organic fruit, mixed with about 40% organic green vegetables (preferrably dark green leafy vegetables–such as kale, collard greens, Romaine lettuce, spinach, parsley).
